Accessibility & ADA Commitment
Last updated: April, 2026
At Olive Web Design, we believe the web should work for everyone. We design, build, and maintain websites with accessibility in mind from day one, not as an afterthought.
Our Standard
Wherever technically and commercially reasonable, we aim for our client sites to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which are widely recognized as the current benchmark for accessible web content in the U.S. (w3.org)
Our accessibility work typically includes:
- Using semantic HTML, proper headings, and landmarks
- Providing meaningful alternative text for images and non‑text content
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast and visible focus states
- Making forms, navigation, and interactive elements usable by keyboard
- Considering screen reader users during design, build, and testing
We also use automated tools and manual checks as part of our build and update process to identify and remediate common accessibility issues.
Scope & Limitations
We focus on the websites and digital experiences we design, build, or maintain under contract. We are not responsible for:
- Content added or changed by clients or third parties without our review
- Third‑party widgets, plugins, or platforms that a client chooses to embed or use
Legacy content created before our involvement, unless specifically included in our scope of work - No agency can guarantee perfect or permanent ADA compliance, because standards, technologies, and content change over time. What we do guarantee is a documented, good‑faith process to identify and fix accessibility issues that are within our control when we become aware of them.
Feedback & Contact
If you have difficulty accessing any Olive Web Design content, or if you are interested in having us review your organization’s site for accessibility, please contact us through our online form.
Please include the page URL, a brief description of the issue, and the assistive technology you are using, if any. We will review and respond within a reasonable timeframe and work to provide the content you need in an accessible format.
